Have you ever admired those really cool  ice cream cone cupcake that you see on Pinterest but haven’t had the opportunity to try making them yourself?  Betty Crocker has now put together an easy-to-follow picture poster on how to make those ice cream cone cupcakes. It looks so simple and it is a great way to add “wow” to your party.

My daughter’s 2 year old birthday is coming up and the theme is going to be lady bugs.  I was trying to come up with some creative ways on how to make ladybug cupcakes. Betty Crocker has these three ideas for Lady Bug cakes.

After looking at this ice cream cone cupcake poster below, I’m thinking that maybe I should make these and then just decorate the tops with lady bugs or maybe I could color the frosting red and black and then arrange them in the shape of a lady bug.  I’m not sure what I’m going to do, but Betty Crocker has many different ideas for birthday cakes.

If you have followed my blog for any amount of time, you probably have realized that I try to make a special birthday cake for each of my children for each of their birthdays. Here are a few of the cakes that I have made over the past few years for different birthdays.

Thomas the Tank Engine
Made from a Wilton form pan
I put this on a regular sheet cake, free-style.
Sunflower cake made out of individual cupcakes
A Fort and Cannon Cake
Red, White and Blue Cupcakes
Star War’s Clone Trooper
Cupcake number cake

As you can probably imagine, these cakes took a lot of time to make and I always do lots of research and get lots of ideas by looking at pictures on Pinterest, Google and Betty Crocker’s website.

Here are two cake pictures that were taken by my sister-in-law. We used the Betty Crocker’s Butterfly Cake video tutorial.
