EASY! Fresh Oven Roasted Tomato Sauce

There is no need to peel your tomatoes for this sauce! Just throw everything into a baking dish, stir every 20 minutes and in 1-2 hours, you have the best tasting, super fresh, oven roasted tomato sauce.
Ingredients
  • 5lbs fresh tomatoes
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh basil
  • 12 cloves garlic, whole, peeled
  • 1 onion
Instructions
  1. Wash and chunk your tomatoes and toss them in a glass 9x13 baking dish
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and lightly stir to coat with the olive oil
  3. Bake at 400 degrees for approximate 1 to 1½ hours, stirring every twenty minutes, until the tomatoes are reduced and there isn't much juice. If you like a thicker sauce, let it cook longer. If you like a thinner sauce, cook it less.
  4. Allow the sauce to cool a bit before blending it. You can use a stick blender or a regular blender.
  5. Season to taste.
  6. Enjoy!
