Concord Grape Pie Recipe

- 3½ -4 cups Concord grapes, washed and stemmed
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 1½ Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 9" pie shell
- Topping:
- ¾ cup flour
- ½ cup sugar
- ⅓ cup melted butter
- Pinch the grapes to separate the skins from the pulp.
- Rinse skins and pulp.
- Simmer the pulp in a small saucepan for 5-10 minutes.
- Coarsely chop skins.
- While still hot, press the pulp through a sieve or a food mill to remove the seeds.
- Combine the sugar and the flour.
- Add to the grape skins and pulp.
- Blend in the lemon juice and melted butter.
- Pour into pie shell.
- Combine the topping ingredients and sprinkle on top of the pie.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
- NOTE: This may bubble over from all of the juice so you may want put a lined tray underneath your pie pan.
- Cool on a baking rack before serving.
