Sourdough (discard) Whole Grain Pancakes

This recipe uses freshly ground flax and oatmeal to boost the nutrition of these pancakes. It's a great way to use up you discard as well.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sour dough discard
  • 1 cup rolled oats, ground
  • 1/4 cup flax seeds, ground
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1.5 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3.4-5 cups milk
  • pinch Salt
  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Put oats and flax in powerful blender and blend until flour type consistency.

  2. In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients and mix well.. You may need to add a bit more milk to achieve the correct pancake batter type consistency.
