As many of you know, for our 2014 Christmas, the theme was making memories and handmade items. All of my children received knit hats and woolen mittens.  I looked through many, many patterns hoping to find something adorable but useful.

For my 3 year old, I found this really cute pattern inside the book, “Last-Minute Knitted Gifts” by Joeele Hoverson. The hat pattern is on page 59.

I used a nice, 100% cotton yarn called, CottonTots by Bernat along with a set of size 7, double pointed needles.  The pattern was SUPER EASY to follow and it was snap to put together.  The directions for making a simple I-chord were also written out and with the help of YouTube and knitting tutorials, I whipped it out in no time.

So if you are looking for a really nice, stylish hat for a little girl, be sure to check out this pattern.  There are also lots of us great knit gift ideas in “Last-Minute Knit Gifts”. It is neatly organized by hours so if you know you only have two hours to make something, go to the “Less-Than-Two-Hour Gift” chapter.

This is available on Amazon in hardcover format as well as for your Kindle.
