Irish soda bread is one of those foods that people have fond memories of being served around St. Patrick’s Day. But Irish soda bread isn’t just for a few days in the middle of March. Irish soda bread can be enjoyed all year long.

This simple recipe tastes amazing, yet is simple to mix up. It uses everyday ingredients that are in almost every cook’s kitchen. It’s perfect for lunches, dinners, snacks, gifts or just because you love it so much.

If you don’t have buttermilk, don’t panic. Just add a teaspoon or two of lemon juice or vinegar to your milk and let it set for a few minutes. That milk will work just fine in place of the buttermilk.
