Lately, I have been making large batches of bread dough and baking it. But the bread keeps going stale before we eat it all. So last week, I attempted to freeze one batch of dough and see how it turned out.

Well, today I thawed it out and cooked it. It came out great! It rose just like normal and I think it even tasted better. To thaw it, I took the frozen dough and placed it in a warm oven for about a hour or until it was warm. Then I shaped the dough into a loaf and let that rise until double, about 1 1/2-2hrs. That part took a little longer than normal but was fine.

I’m definately going to do that whole freezing dough bit more often because it does save me time not having to make the dough then was all of the equipment.

  1. Just the other day I made cinnamon raisin bread from joyinmykitchen.blogspot.com . I made 4 loaves (we ate one, gave 2 away, and froze one. The frozen one came in handy on Sunday as we had with our lunch.
