Old-Fashion Ginger Pumpkin Pie

This recipe has been passed down through the generations. It's been at everything Thanksgiving meal that I can remember. Classic and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked or canned pumpkin If using fresh cooked pumpkin, allow to drain for 30 minutes before using.
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup half & half
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Brush crust with egg wash if desired.

  3. Mix all of the ingredients and pour into a prepared pie crust.

  4. Bake at 375°F for 45-55 minutes or until the edges are just about cracking but the inside is slightly jiggly.

  5. Allow to cool/chill before serving.
